In the heart of Turin, within the former industrial area of the Officine Savigliano, stands the SNOS Gallery Centre, inaugurated on 24 June 2009. The project concerned the volumetric recovery of the disused areas, begun in 2004, and included the construction design of the steel and glass parts of the buildings, intended primarily for offices, a business centre and commercial spaces.
The complex represents an example of excellence in the recovery of industrial architecture, combining early twentieth-century historic elements with contemporary structural and architectural solutions. The formal simplicity, the enhancement of traditional materials and the engineering quality of the steel and glass elements characterise the project.
The result is a modern, functional urban centre, perfectly integrated into the city fabric and easily accessible, which preserves the memory of Turin's industrial past and reinterprets it in a post-industrial key, blending work, shopping and entertainment.
