In 2003, Trenitalia S.p.A. commissioned O&M Ingegneria to design the structures and systems of the new Vehicle Maintenance Workshop (OMV) at the Alessandria railway yard, intended for the maintenance of railway convoys, including the new models introduced at the time.
The building, over 300 metres long, is built with a load-bearing steel structure and continuous shallow foundations. The internal layout is designed to accommodate an entire regional train complete with locomotive, operating in full safety on raised tracks supported by steel posts, following a configuration typical of railway maintenance.
The project integrated all the necessary plant and environmental requirements to ensure an efficient, safe working environment compliant with current regulations.
